Vladimir Ulyanov, MD: The Diagnostic Architect of Mundelein

Located at 333 IL-83, Suite 107, within the Mundelein professional corridor, the practice of Dr. Vladimir Ulyanov (Northwest Medical Associates) is a destination for patients seeking a high-intellect, meticulous approach to Internal Medicine. With nearly 40 years of experience, Dr. Ulyanov has built a reputation as a "doctor’s doctor"—a practitioner who focuses on the complex intersection of chronic disease management and preventative longevity.

At Suite 107, the atmosphere is one of clinical focus and European-style thoroughness, catering to adults who value a physician who prioritizes deep diagnostics over "express" appointments.

The "Ulyanov" Medical Philosophy

What distinguishes Dr. Ulyanov’s Mundelein practice in a landscape of large healthcare groups?

The Academic Foundation: A graduate of the Crimean State Medical University, Dr. Ulyanov brings a rigorous, classical medical education to his practice. His residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago refined his expertise in the American healthcare system, allowing him to blend international clinical intuition with state-of-the-art standards.

Complex Chronic Management: He is particularly regarded for his work with "the difficult case." Whether it’s managing brittle diabetes, complex hypertension, or multi-systemic issues in geriatric patients, Dr. Ulyanov is known for his ability to connect the dots across different symptoms to find a cohesive treatment plan.

The "Direct and Candid" Communicator: Patients often describe his bedside manner as "straightforward and professional." He is a physician who respects his patients' intelligence, providing clear, unvarnished explanations of medical conditions and the lifestyle changes required to manage them.

Bilingual Bridge: As a fluent speaker of English and Russian, he provides a vital service to Mundelein’s diverse population, ensuring that senior patients and immigrants can discuss their health in their native tongue with a Board-Certified expert.

The Experience at Suite 107

The office at 333 IL-83 (the Mundelein Square area) is designed for efficiency and calm. Affiliated with Northwestern Medicine (Lake Forest Hospital) and Advocate Condell Medical Center, Dr. Ulyanov provides the intimacy of a private office with the backend support of the region's top-tier hospital systems.

Patient Insight: Dr. Ulyanov is known for his punctuality and expects the same from his patients. This is a practice for those who appreciate a well-organized schedule and a doctor who is fully prepared and briefed on your chart before he even walks into the room.

All three of my children have been Dr. Ulyanovs patients. We have been going to his office for almost 10 years. Hands down the best doctor in town. He is very knowledgeable, experienced, thoughtful and caring. He always takes his time to listen carefully. The staff is also very nice. Overall, highly recommend.

I’m very frustrated with Dr. Vladimir Ulyanov. While he’s a skilled pediatrician, his constant lateness is unacceptable—often 40 to 50 minutes behind schedule with no updates or communication. His assistants are left in the dark, and patients’ families are never informed about delays. There are no apologies, explanations, or courtesy calls.

His tardiness caused me to miss a very important appointment that could have major consequences for my entire family. He arrived 45 minutes late, offered no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, took his time, and we still didn’t get what we needed from the visit.

I respect his medical expertise, but this lack of professionalism, communication, and basic respect for other people’s time is becoming a deal breaker. Patients deserve the same courtesy and consideration that doctors expect from us. This day was an important day for my family, and I don’t think he realizes how deeply his actions affect others.

This doctor needs to close his doors. Sorry he takes so long! Last time I went at 9am and didn’t leave until 3pm!!!! I missed work my child who’s was 5 at the time was crying and crying I’m not sure how people go here still! My daughter couldn’t go to school because they needed to fax a paper and it took them almost a month to fix it even tho I kept calling and calling to fax it. If I was you I won’t go here or come back I used to go here at 9 years old and it was nice and fun but now they take so long the lady’s at the desk are rude and mean. Don’t come here if you want to waste your whole day here. I’m taking my kids to advocate they are nice and pretty quick. I stopped coming here last month. I was going to write a review but forgot.
