Located on the western edge of Chicago’s Hermosa and Belmont Cragin neighborhoods, the Walmart Supercenter at 4626 W Diversey Ave is a massive resource for a part of the city that values convenience and variety. This isn't just a place to pick up a box of cereal; it is a sprawling, multi-purpose hub that has become a fixture in the local community since it opened in 2013. For families in the 60639 zip code, it acts as the neighborhood's ultimate "one-stop shop," providing everything from fresh groceries to high-tech electronics and home essentials under one roof.
What makes this Diversey Avenue location particularly useful for busy Chicagoans is the sheer range of on-site services that save you multiple trips across town. Inside, you’ll find a full-service Pharmacy with a dedicated team, a Vision Center for eye exams and new frames, and even an Auto Care Center where you can get an oil change or new tires while you do your weekly shopping. The grocery section is notably expansive, featuring a fresh bakery, a deli counter, and a wide selection of produce that helped bring much-needed fresh food options to the local area.
Beyond the basics, the store is designed to fit the rhythm of urban life. With hours that typically run from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, it accommodates everyone from early-morning commuters to late-night workers. For those who want to avoid the checkout lines, the store offers modern features like Walmart+ pickup and delivery, allowing you to order on the app and have your groceries brought right to your car in the Hall Plaza parking lot. They even offer specific "sensory-friendly hours" in the mornings, creating a quieter, calmer environment for shoppers who prefer a more relaxed experience.
Whether you are prepping for a weekend cookout, upgrading your home office, or just grabbing a last-minute gift at the Photo Center, this Walmart Supercenter provides the scale and affordability that Northwest Side residents rely on. Its location in the Hall Plaza shopping center—adjacent to other local staples and city services—makes it a natural anchor for the community. By combining everyday low prices with a staggering variety of goods and services, the Diversey Walmart continues to be a central part of helping Chicago families live better.

- The only reason I don't like this store because it's speed bump city there's a speedbump every 4 meters and they are big and will hurt your back, I counted 13 speedbumps just to go to the store. It's crazy
- Had to travel all the way from Halstead and diversy to go to a walmart because of walmart around where I live was closed down.
- I ordered grocery delivery and my driver stole my food. Getting through to someone that could help me was a nightmare that took several hours and involved 4 different means of contacting support, including waiting on hold for 30 minutes to be hung up on. Absolutely ridiculous way to treat customers.
- There are way too many self checkout registers, not enough cashier's, & the aisles are very narrow & crowded, but you can't beat the prices.
- I put an order for order pickup to save time. I waited over 45 minutes. There were 4 cars. It would’ve been faster just shopping. My boss was not happy that it took so long to pick up my order. I went during my lunch break.
- Lots of items to choose from. The prices for food items is reasonable. The check out was easy.
- Great place to shop best time to go is in the morning now its getting hard the line are getting longer morning is still the best time to go there
- This Walmart is by my job and is very clean and organized. It's more pleasant and quite spacious for the location. I didn't expect it to have everything it had. It is a full service Walmart with groceries and all. I Love Elk Grove and may look into purchasing a home in the very near future. Elk Grove, here we come.
