Jacksonville, 10601 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32257

If you’re living in Mandarin or the Southside and looking for a grocery run that feels a little more like a treat than a chore, the Whole Foods Market at 10601 San Jose Blvd is the place to go. Located in the heart of the 32257 zip code, right where I-295 hits San Jose Boulevard, this store is a neighborhood staple. It’s a bit of a local legend because the building actually used to be a Publix and an Albertsons back in the day, but now it’s a bright, wide-open space that’s way more organized and easy to navigate than the typical city supermarket.

The biggest reason to shop here is the incredible fresh produce and specialized departments. For those of us who are picky about our greens, the vegetables here are always crisp and vibrantly displayed. If you’re planning a weekend BBQ, the full-service butcher shop is top-tier, offering grass-fed beef and sausages made right in the store. For the beer and wine lovers, there’s a massive selection in the back—right next to the cheese bar—featuring tons of local Florida favorites from places like Bold City Brewery and Intuition Ale Works. It’s the perfect one-stop shop if you’re putting together a fancy charcuterie board or just want a high-quality steak for dinner.

What really distinguishes this Whole Foods from other spots on San Jose Blvd is the prepared foods and the WFM Coffee Bar. Since it’s so close to local offices and schools, the hot bar and salad bar are always buzzing with people grabbing a healthy lunch. You can get custom-made sushi from the Genji Sushi station or grab a coffee to sip while you walk the aisles. One of the best "hidden" perks is the outdoor seating area; there’s even a quiet spot with a water feature along the side of the building where you can actually sit and decompress for a few minutes while you eat your lunch.

The convenience factor here is also a huge draw. Between the Amazon Returns kiosk (where you can just drop off packages without a box or label) and the "Amazon One" palm-payment tech, you can get in and out pretty quickly even when it's busy. The staff is generally super friendly and actually knows where things are, which is a relief when you're hunting for a specific gluten-free flour or a vegan dessert. It’s a clean, reliable, and high-quality anchor for the Mandarin community that makes "eating well" feel a lot less complicated.

ABOUT

Who are we? Well, we seek out the finest natural and organic foods available, maintain the strictest quality standards in the industry, and have an unshakeable commitment to sustainable agriculture. Add to that the excitement and fun we bring to shopping for groceries, and you start to get a sense of what we’re all about. Oh yeah, we’re a mission-driven company too.

The original Whole Foods Market opened in 1980 with a staff of only 19 people. It was an immediate success. At the time, there were less than half a dozen natural food supermarkets in the United States. We have grown by leaps and bounds since our first store opened.

The interior of the store is beautiful, but I was quite disappointed with the turkey sandwich that I got for $5.99.

As you can see through the clear package, it looks like there’s a decent amount of turkey on the sandwich. But, when you open it up, there’s maybe $.20 cents of turkey on the whole thing. I’ve noticed that with these pre-packaged sandwiches they try to make it look like there's a decent amount of meat on them, but in reality it’s fake. Very disappointing.

I know this probably won’t change at this store or at other supermarkets that do the prepackaged sandwiches but my suggestion is don’t take the bait. Prices for food are ridiculous. There is no reason why it should be like this.

Also, this store was filled with staff shoppers filling delivery orders. I kept bumping into them every aisle. Who are all these rich people that can afford weekly groceries to be delivered by Whole Foods???

The Amazon place is a scam I went and I returned an item. She never gave me a receipt. She told me I was gonna get an email receipt. I called Amazon and they never even received my item and they said that the QR code that was scanned was the wrong code, and that they canceled the return and generated a new code themselves.

I had a long day today, a big shadow ahead of me, but my shopping experience here was lovely! John showed me the way and helped me find some red vine candy along with some cups and whole wheat flour. Faithful attention to detail, great customer service, a pleasure to speak with! Mary was very kind and helped put away my basket as I checked out and walked to my car. I’m glad to shop at Whole Foods Market and hope to come back again!

This is more of a specialty market for the health conscious and wealthy. The selection is satisfying. It has a country chic (sheek) kinda vibe. It's definitely not big box. I feel rich when I shop here.

Looking for that unique spice or hard to find item, not at your usual grocery store. Visit Whole Foods, the staff was friendly and willing to help you find any item. The store was clean and bright.

Visited Whole Foods for the first time in the last 6 years. Beautiful store. The prices are way more than I care to spend.

With intelligent shopping you can pay $0.59 for organic bananas vs $0.89 at Whole Foods, just one example. Forget the fancy bags to carry groceries home, replace them with more economical and bring down prices

Lovely store. Some of the food wasn’t ready at 3pm which was disappointing as I really love the broccoli crunch salad. Lovely sitting area where I was able to get some work done.

It’s WjoleFoods - you know it is pricey but it’s also quality. If the standards ever drop, they will be in trouble. Can get cheaper elsewhere but the convenience is a factor.

Their hot and cold food bars are a great attraction.

I went to return an Amazon order. I tried to shop and the place really sucks since the "change" I think they're recruiting wel-smart rejects to work there. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a sign in the employee break room that says "beatings will continue until morale improves"

It's okay, not as good as publix or Walmart. Prices are a bit on the higher side.
