If you’re a pet owner in the Southeast part of the valley, the Animal Emergency Center of Las Vegas and Henderson is that reliable safety net you hope you never need, but are so glad is there. Tucked away at 3340 E Patrick Ln (right near the intersection of Patrick and Pecos), it’s perfectly positioned for anyone coming from Henderson, Paradise, or the East Side. It’s not a flashy, high-rise clinic; it’s a dedicated emergency space that’s been the go-to for local families for years when their regular vet is closed.

The biggest thing to know about this place is its specific mission: they are here for the "after-hours" moments. They open their doors at 6:00 PM on weeknights and stay open straight through the weekend. This is huge because most of us know that pet scares—like a sudden limp, an upset stomach, or something worse—always seem to happen right as the neighborhood clinics are locking up for the day. Having a specialized team ready to go while the rest of the city is sleeping is a major relief.

What sets this center apart is the "no-nonsense" professional care. They aren't trying to be your everyday wellness vet; they are built for crisis. They have high-tech gear like climate-controlled oxygen cages and an on-site lab for immediate bloodwork. Locals really appreciate that they don't just see cats and dogs; they are one of the few emergency spots that will treat rabbits, reptiles, and "pocket pets" like hamsters or guinea pigs. If your bearded dragon or bunny has an emergency on a Saturday night, this is one of your best bets in the Vegas area.

The staff here has a reputation for being incredibly compassionate during those really tough, emotional "end-of-life" visits. Many neighbors have shared stories about the doctors taking the time to explain everything clearly and never making them feel rushed, even at 3:00 AM. It’s a stressful environment for everyone involved, but they manage to keep it calm and respectful. Plus, since they are certified by the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, you know your fur baby is in hands that meet the highest standards in the state.

We had to take our Brimley on an early Sunday morning as he had trouble breathing though his nose. Dr. Vriend took a look at him and recommended he get a CT Scan at another nearby hospital. He was compassionate and thorough regarding his treatment options given his age (almost 17) and the potential cancer in his sinus.

We took his extensive report to the other hospital and they agreed with his assessment. We had to make the emotionally difficult decision to give him the soft goodbye. While we are still mourning, I am thankful that Animal Emergency Center of Las Vegas and Henderson were able to provide care for him at the time.

I know you never see pet parents at their best being an Animal ER and I appreciate the way we were treated when we were there. It's such a selfless role but it's for the greater good. Thanks again everyone for the service your provide pet parents.

I took my foster baby in because his surgery site opened. This is the hospital the animal foundation said to take him to. They told me there was nothing wrong and if I wanted him to be seen I would have to pay out of pocket. Since when?? The animal foundation pays them. Maybe it was because I am black!! Well not all black people are crooks. Yall more shady than anyone......I will never use this hospital and if something happens to my fur baby I will be suing.....

I cannot recommend them enough. Our beloved pup got really sick out of nowhere and Animal Emergency Center was recommended to us by our vet. We took her over there and were instantly taken care of. She was there for 4 days and all of the staff were so kind to our whole family. They gave us regular updates and anytime I would call they were happy to let us know how she was doing. She was in isolation with pneumonia but anytime we wanted to see her they would allow us to gown up and go back to see her. Both Dr. Schlaich and Dr. O’Dea were so helpful and walked us through the entire process. They were realistic about the diagnosis but could also tell when we needed a bit of hope. Perfect bedside manners. You can also tell how much everyone there wants to help all the sick animals. Unfortunately, we had to put her down (not any fault to the vets) but Dr. Schlaich and the entire staff were so kind and warm and helped put us at ease when making that horrible decision. If I ever have a sick pet again, I am immediately going here. Thank you to everyone at Animal Emergency Center for all of your love and attention you gave Biscuit.

An absolute great first impression on how the front desk handle my emergency situation. I called them due to what I thought was an emergency. They informed me they did not have anyone waiting and could be seen immediately. I arrived to the clinic and proceeded to check in. The front desk team member asked about the emergency and how it had happened. After explaining what had happened, she informed me that the experience was a normal occurrence with male dogs and no need to worry. I was so relieved after hearing the news.
Thank you Animal Emergency Center of Las Vegas for being a caring facility and truly helping people.
