I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have found Dr. Vine. After calling countless vets and making the long trip from Arizona, this is where I finally felt at peace, where I knew my precious Yorkie would be in the best hands. As a deeply concerned dog mom of now 17 dogs, I was overwhelmed with anxiety leading up to her C-section. I didn’t even know who the doctor would be until the day of surgery, but the moment I met Dr. Vine, I was instantly reassured. His calm, confident presence gave me the peace I desperately needed.

The surgery went flawlessly, my Yorkie was up and walking shortly after, having safely delivered all 4 of her beautiful babies. The incision was so clean and beautifully done, a true testament to Dr. Vine’s skill and care. I’ve never felt this comfortable with a vet before. The entire staff was compassionate, attentive, and truly outstanding.

I will absolutely be returning to Durango Animal Hospital for all follow-up care because they were that incredible. Honestly, I would even consider moving here just to have continued access to this level of care. It’s rare to find a veterinary team that leads so strongly with heart and passion, and Dr. Vine embodies everything you’d hope for when trusting someone with your beloved pets.

I brought my moms pet in to be euthanized due to a spinal injury that they could not afford to be treated. The amazing doctors and nurses did not feel comfortable putting her down due to her age and her having a chance to have a good life. They found her a home writhing hours. I can express how thankful I am . They are truly a blessing and I hope they continue to do amazing things going forward.

I brought my dog in for a scheduled dental cleaning and unfortunately had a very stressful experience due to a lack of communication. I dropped him off at 7:30 AM, as instructed, and didn’t receive any updates throughout the day. When I called at 3:30 PM to check on him, I was surprised to learn that he hadn’t even been seen yet and was “next up.” This was his first time undergoing anesthesia at 9 years old, so waiting over eight hours without any information was very alarming.

During this conversation, I was told that procedures are done on a “first come, first serve” basis. This policy was never communicated to me when the appointment was made. Had I known he wouldn’t be seen until late afternoon, I would have gladly dropped him off later instead of having him sit in a kennel all day.

The staff I interacted with were polite, but the overall lack of transparency made the experience unnecessarily stressful for both me and my dog. Clear communication is especially important for procedures involving anesthesia, and I hope the clinic will improve in this area for future patients.

DR Travis McDermott and his staff took very great care of our sick doggie. He had to stay over night and be taken care of and nursed back to health. They took their time and explained everything. We would highly recommend Dr McDermott and his staff for your pets needs. Thank you for making Bugsy better!

We are cat parents of 3. Took 2 of our cats Mango and Monkey to durango animal hospital 2 times for different reasons. Both times we were blessed to have been treated by Dr Margolis. Her compassion and bedside manner exceeded our expectations both times. Genuinely the best animal hospital hands down. Thank you so much for your care, to everyone there. I am writing about the board and care unit not the hospital as they were amazing, especially during the passing of my Fanci. Fast forward to why we bring our new dog Snuggles in for boarding. At least we did... we just went to pick her up about approximately 10:30 am today.

My Fiancé and I walked into the facility first. I said hello to the front desk woman (with curly hair) and said I am here to pick up Snuggles. Another woman walked in behind me and when the front desk clerk said hello to the woman who walked in after to me, I assumed she was calling my dog to the front and maybe working on my paperwork at the same time. I am waiting and waiting at the desk and finally I ask her, should I sit down? No acknowledgment saying your dogs on the way, have a seat. She says, yes go ahead and have a seat. Now this woman is going on and on about how she's new and wants more explanation and still my dog hasn't arrived. Once the woman who walked in after us, leaves the clerk at the front desk says, "Hi, what dog are you picking up?" I almost lost it. We tell her it's Snuggles and she begins drafting paperwork, I said, "I am sorry, did that lady have an appointment or something?" She goes on to say, "No, she called and wanted to know if we could get her dogs in and at first, we couldn't but there was a cancelation." I said, " Ok, I was first, I don't understand." She says, "Oh you all walked in together like you knew each other."
She was so matter of fact, no apology, nothing.

I manage a business and I can tell the difference between a mistake and discrimination. I was so mad I left and let my fiancé finish the process. I will NEVER return.
