If you live in Summerlin or the Peccole Ranch area, you know that pet emergencies never happen at a "convenient" time. That’s why having the Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) right at 800 S Rampart Blvd (Suite 110) is such a relief for local pet owners. Located in the Village at Queensridge, it’s super easy to find, and you don’t have to navigate a maze of hospital hallways when your heart is racing because your dog or cat is in trouble.

What really makes VEG different from any other vet in Las Vegas is their "open floor" policy. Usually, when you take a pet to the ER, they whisk them into a back room and you’re left sitting in a lobby staring at the wall. At VEG, you stay with your pet the whole time. You can sit right there while they do the exam, the bloodwork, and even the treatments. It’s a huge deal for those of us who hate the idea of our fur babies being scared and alone in a back room.

Another big benefit is that you can actually talk to a doctor the second you call. You don’t get stuck in a phone tree or talking to a receptionist who can’t give you medical advice. If you think your dog ate something toxic or is breathing weird, you call them up, and a vet will tell you right then if you need to rush in or if it can wait. It saves so much stress and potentially a very expensive, unnecessary trip.

The vibe inside is surprisingly calm for an emergency room. The staff is used to the high-pressure environment of Summerlin pet emergencies, but they treat you like a neighbor, not just a number. They handle everything from surgeries to basic stitches, and they even see "exotics" like birds and reptiles. Plus, because they are open 24/7, including holidays, you never have to check the clock before heading over. It’s just solid, transparent care when you need it most.

If I could give 10 stars I’d give them 11! This place is amazing. I took my baby Sally (Yorkshire terrier) there for an emergency visit. I woke up to Sally being very lethargic, not eating, shaking, and pale gums. I panicked and called about 6 different places before finding Veg, they were very kind, helpful, and concerned about my pet. They immediately took her to a bed and began working on her, they even brought out snacks and books for my daughter. They gave me a treatment plan and an estimate for me. They offered me treatment that I could afford, and they recommended me taking her to a primary immediately. I want to say that today Sally is a lot better, she still needs to see a primary, but they definitely helped get her back on her feet. Special shout out to Dr. Deml, and Miranda and EVERYONE on the team for taking my concerns seriously and treating me baby with such care and urgency

My sweet Polar Bear had been sick for about 2 months before I had to rush her here. She was worse than ever. Not eating, not drinking, and losing tons of weight. My primary vet pretty much told me they had no idea why she was doing so poorly and the best they could guess it was because she was an old dog, which is true but she was sick so fast it couldn't be the only reason. I was actually looking into a second opinion because of that, as it wasn't a satisfying answer. Dr. Dowling and her team gave me my answer. My primary vet had missed the compounding issues in her gut and that it maybe cancerous. Considering how sick she was and how fast I agree that it was probably that. My pup didn't get to come home but I feel better with my decision to let her go with the potential reason known other than she's just old. I wish I had come sooner, after all if I had known this issue I could have made those last few days the best ever. Thank Dr. Dowling. Thank you Elisa, I'm sorry if I spelt your name wrong, but I wanted to let you know specifically that what you did for us means the world to me.

VEG ER will be the place we continue to take our pets to for emergencies. This was our first visit and everyone there was very competent, caring and you could tell they loved what they did. As soon as we walked through the door we were being helped and put into a room. Dr. Jess Dowling was very informative and explained everything that they were doing. We were able to stay with our baby the whole time which was very comforting. And the days following if we had a question we were able to call and get answers. Keep up the good work to all the employees at VEG ER!!

An incredible team that will genuinely bend over backwards to give you and your pet the best care possible. The facility is spotless, and pets are never left wanting for anything. Their level of care rivals that of a human hospital, if not better. The open-care concept lets you see first-hand how your pet is treated. The nurses and doctors are knowledgeable, competent, and truly compassionate. And while you can’t put a price on the joy your pet brings, their pricing is more than reasonable.
Lastly but most importantly, thank you to all of the staff for taking amazing care of Stormy.
