At POC American Fusion Buffet & Sushi, the phrase "Ports of Call" (the meaning behind the acronym) isn't just a name—it’s a roadmap for your plate. Located at 2121 Ponce de Leon Blvd, this is where the upscale architectural elegance of Coral Gables meets the unapologetic abundance of a global buffet.
Forget the standard cafeteria vibes; POC has spent over a decade redefining gluttony as a glamorous, high-design experience.
The "Innovative Buffet" Philosophy
POC was built to dismantle the "quantity over quality" buffet stereotype. With a kitchen helmed by chefs with pedigrees from New York’s Nobu and Balthazar, the focus is on "non-traditional" dining where variety meets high-level technique.
The Sushi Sanctuary: This is the crown jewel. With over 40–50 selections of fresh sushi, sashimi, and hand rolls daily, it rivals standalone sushi bars. Look for original creations like the Fire Dragon Roll (shrimp tempura topped with spicy tuna) or the Angel Roll.
The Raw Bar & Carving Station: A centerpiece of oceanic luxury featuring snow crab legs, oysters, and clams, alongside a grill where chefs carve Prime Rib, Churrasco, and Picanha Steak to order.
The Fusion Hot Line: Where East meets West in the best way possible. You’ll find everything from Grand Marnier Prawns and Saffron Mussels to Lobster Bisque topped with house-made garlic croutons.
Why It’s a Gables Power-Spot
In a neighborhood known for $50 entrees, POC provides a "value-forward" luxury that draws a diverse crowd of professionals and families alike.
The Environment: The space is sleek and contemporary, featuring high ceilings and a lively, upscale atmosphere that feels more like a chic lounge than a traditional eatery.
The "Workaholic" Lunch: Known for its efficiency, it’s a favorite for Coral Gables office workers who need a high-protein, high-variety meal with complementary Wi-Fi and quick service.
The Dessert Grand Finale: They don't overlook the end of the meal. The dessert bar is a decadent spread of Crème Brûlée, Mango Mousse, and Tres Leches—all served in petite, manageable portions (so you can try them all).
The Verdict
If you are the type of diner who wants a piece of Brazilian steak, a mountain of Alaskan crab, and a bespoke spicy tuna roll in a single sitting, POC is your headquarters. It is the definitive "no-compromise" restaurant in the 33134 zip code.
Pro Tip: While the weekday lunch is a steal, the Friday to Sunday Dinner Buffet is when the "heavy hitters" come out, including the premium raw bar selections and more exotic sushi rolls.

- POC in Coral Gables is a great sushi restaurant that offers a buffet-style dining experience.
It tends to get very packed but the sushi is always fresh and delicious. The variety of options on the buffet is impressive, with a range of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese specialties and even some unique rolls. Their dessert options are also good. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere and friendly staff who are always around helping. If you're a sushi lover, POC is definitely worth checking out of you're in the coral gables area.
- Looove this place! Great variety of options. Be aware that the looks/environment doesn’t match to the quality of food. Please: make a little investment and hire an interior designer
- Crab legs are like eating straight feom a salt shaker. I make crab legs a lot and eat them out often and never threw any out until now. Other food was good but won't be back. Waiter was attentive
- Normally, I visit this location for dinner with my family or friends.
This was one of my first times having a lunch and business meeting. The lunch crowd is definitely different from dinner. Dinner time has a better selection of food available, but the quality of all different kinds of food is always on point. I visited there for the first time about two years ago and never stopped going. I go almost every month with my family and have recommended a handful of friends and friends to this very upscale buffet. The food is always fresh and all the staff is attentive to all your needs. So good I always forget to take pictures.
- This used to be one of my favorite places in the area. Most of the staff is really nice and the food is great, however the guys in the meat area have a horrible attitude and they are always rude and make me feel very uncomfortable every time I have to ask for meat. I will not be going back until they change the meat staff.
- Food was ok, service was pretty bad considering this is a buffet and the atmosphere is similar to a take out Chinese place. I wouldn't go back.
- La variedad de comida y la frescura está muy bien… un buen all you can eat… la atención es esmerada, el lugar es limpio y el tiempo de espera es corto, lo recomiendo para esos días con mucha hambre!!
