The Mrs. Georgia Experience Our Mission and Story

Our name says it all: we serve the kind of food that warms the heart. Mrs. Georgia was born out of a desire to create a welcoming home for the Georgian community and a discovery destination for our neighbors in Queens. We believe that Georgian cuisine—rich in walnuts, fresh herbs, aromatic spices, and artisanal dough—is one of the world’s most inviting culinary languages. Our mission is to share this language with every guest who walks through our doors.

Culinary Craftsmanship

Our kitchen is driven by a passion for tradition and high-quality sourcing:

The Signature Khinkali: Our dumplings are pleated by hand, filled with savory, spiced meats, and served steaming hot.

The Gold Standard Khachapuri: We serve the iconic Georgian cheese-breads, baked until the crust is golden and the cheese center is bubbling.

Charcoal-Grilled Excellence: Our meat platters are prepared over high heat to achieve that distinct, smoky flavor that only true charcoal grilling can provide.

Premium Pairings: We don't just stop at food. Our bar features premium Georgian wines, authentic Chacha (grape brandy), and creative specialty cocktails that honor the Georgian tradition of celebration.

A cute little Georgian family owned restaurant.
Georgian signature food, with a little kick of american flavors. I have to try some of their traditional stews next time. This time I had eggplant rolls with walnut and garlic spread (I couldn't feel garlic though), and Kubdari - flat bread baked with seasoned minced beef meat (in the menu it says beef/pork, but I was told there is beef only).
Unfortunately, they did not have alcohol license, so I could't try some og Georgian wines. However, you can bring your own bottle of wine or beer.
Close to Steinway Street in Astoria, between train stations for R and N/W.
Pet friendly.
Prices moderate.

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was incredibly delicious and tasted just like homemade Georgian cuisine. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great care. The staff were extremely warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind people who made us feel like family. Their hospitality was outstanding, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Georgian food and excellent service. We will definitely be coming back!

Bust. Having my first Georgian food at Chama Mama and being blown away, was expecting similar but not to be. We ordered 3 appetizers, 3 mains, side of potatoes and asparagus. When food came, we got 2 appetizers and 2 mains. Confused as to why we getting entrees with appetizers, said i ordered everything at the same time. True but so what. The rule is appetizers first, entrees second unless I asked for everything to come out same time. Pretty basic.

That aside, was excited about the food we ordered - khinali dumplings, kubdari bread, pkhali dips, lamb shank, grape leaves with rice and meat, and shkmeruli chicken - several of which I ordered at Chana Mama and loved.. Sadly the dumplings were not firm making it difficult to hold and eat properly, the grape leaves did not taste good at all, the lamb shank with promise of smooth puree potatoes was thin, more bone than meat, and served with lumpy potatoes, the kubdari was bit oily but tasted ok and the dips were good but came with no bread When asked and showed her picture from their online menu of dips served with bread. said they changed and no longer served with bread. Odd, imagine salsa without chips. But seeing our disappointment, she provided bread which helped and were able to finally enjoy the pkhali (red beets (?) was my favorite of the four dips). The home fried potatoes were probably one of the better dishes of the night, and the chicken enjoyable but nothing blew me away like my first time trying Georgian food. And the asparagus never came which at that point, we were ok with.

Server was pleasant and looks like they're really trying but their execution is off, food served in haphazard order, and description of food doesnt always line up with what you actually get. Wanted to like based on the many positive reviews and my prior amazing experience with Georgian food but for me, dinner was a bust. Place has potential but need to focus on food quality and service standards.

2 of us split the baked spinach bread, the soup dumplings, and a red cilantro soup and we were full. The staff was lovely! The spinach bread was my favorite, but you can't go wrong with anything bread related here.

Update: do not get the cheese plate (literally just blocks of cheese and a few mushrooms, despite the menu description) or the eggplant rolls.

It was my first time trying Georgian food, and it was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere and the restaurant itself were beautiful, making it a wonderful dining experience. They also had live musicians, which added a great touch to the ambiance. The only area that could be improved is the service, as it was a bit slow. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back.
