I have been a loyal Gucci customer for over 30 years and my recent experience at the Gucci store in CityCenterDC was extremely disappointing.

On June 25, 2025 I brought a pair of Gucci shoes into the store to be repaired. When I left them there, my expectation was simple. They would be sent out for repair and ready when I returned. I split my time between West Palm Beach and Washington DC, so I trusted the store to handle this professionally.

Recently I was back in DC for an event and stopped by the store to pick up my shoes. To my surprise, I was told the shoes were never sent out for repair. They had simply been sitting there the entire time.

At first I thought maybe they had not contacted me because I changed my phone number. However, after checking their system they confirmed they did in fact have my correct number. There was no call, no message, and no follow up.

For a brand that positions itself as luxury, the level of service at this location is unacceptable. Luxury is supposed to come with attention to detail and respect for the customer. Instead, the service I experienced was careless and unprofessional.

I have visited Gucci’s headquarters in Florence and purchased items from the Gucci Museum. I have supported this brand for decades. Experiences like this make it clear that the standards that once defined Gucci are no longer there.

Between the lack of service and designs that increasingly look more like costumes than luxury fashion, the brand has clearly fallen off. The CityCenterDC store in particular was a complete disappointment.

After more than 30 years as a customer, this experience was embarrassing for the brand and incredibly frustrating for someone who expected far better.

I would not spend another cent on anything in this store. We bought $11,000 worth of luggage from them. We expected the luggage to hold up well through our travels, due to its high price and reputation. It did not. It is a surprisingly flimsy product and does not hold up well at all. After only a couple of years of use, we needed repairs. We brought the luggage to the DC store and discussed the repairs needed to be made. The store took the luggage, and for months never gave us an update on how work was progressing. Countless calls and emails were made by us to determine progress. We were lied to by the store a couple of months ago. They said the luggage was finally in Italy being repaired. We went to the store today SEVEN MONTHS AFTER WE DROPPED IT OFF, and threatened legal action. We then found out that not only did the luggage never leave the store, but they could also not make the necessary repairs!!!! The managers and staff at this store are obviously incompetent… and the product is inferior. Don’t waste your time buying anything Gucci, and especially at this store. You will regret it!!!
