Atlanta, 102 Mary Alice Park Rd Ste 802, Cumming, GA 30040

In the growing community of Cumming, where life often feels like a constant balancing act between work, family, and staying healthy, dealing with a hormonal or metabolic issue can make everything feel out of sync. At Atlanta Endocrine Associates, led by Dr. Scott Isaacs, MD, we have established a specialized practice at 102 Mary Alice Park Rd, Ste 802, that focuses on getting your body back into balance. We know that when you are struggling with your energy, your weight, or a complex condition like diabetes or thyroid disease, you want a doctor who sees you as a whole person, not just a set of lab results. Our office is designed to be a supportive environment where we take the time to figure out the "why" behind how you are feeling.

We have always believed that the most successful medical care happens when the doctor and the patient are working as a team. Dr. Isaacs is a highly regarded expert in endocrinology and weight management, but he makes it a priority to speak with his patients in plain, simple language. We know that the endocrine system can be incredibly confusing, filled with complex terms and biological jargon that can leave your head spinning. Instead of over-complicating things, we sit down and have a real, down-to-earth conversation about your hormones and your health. Whether we are discussing a long-term management plan or a new diagnosis, our goal is for you to leave our office in Suite 802 feeling a sense of relief because you finally have a clear, understandable path forward.

Living in the North Georgia area means you want the energy to enjoy the lake, the parks, and everything our community has to offer. Dr. Isaacs brings years of specialized expertise to help his neighbors in Cumming and the surrounding Forsyth County area regain control over their health. We focus heavily on a comprehensive approach, looking at how nutrition, lifestyle, and medical treatments all work together to help you reach your goals. By providing personalized, one-on-one attention, we ensure that your care is tailored specifically to your body and your history. Our practice offers the kind of high-level medical insight you’d expect from a top specialist, but with the friendly, accessible feel of a local doctor who is genuinely invested in your success.

If you have been looking for an endocrinologist who treats you with respect and listens to your concerns without checking the clock, we invite you to come and meet our team. You don’t have to "just live with" feeling tired or frustrated with your health when expert, compassionate help is right here in the neighborhood. We take immense pride in being a trusted part of the Georgia medical community and helping our patients lead more vibrant, balanced, and healthy lives. We look forward to welcoming you into our practice and showing you how straightforward and supportive your journey to wellness can be when your doctor treats you with the individual focus you deserve.

I started seeing him a few years ago. I told him I thought I was having adrenal issues again - I'd been treated for hypothyroidism and adrenal insufficiency after my pregnancy 13 years ago. He all but laughed me out of the room and told me you can't have a thyroid problem one day and not the next, which is absolutely not true. Even having a cold can impact your thyroid hormone levels. He ran a bunch of basic tests but wouldn't treat my history of adrenal insuffiency with any seriousness and told me my old doctor must have been a quack.

When my routine labwork came back clean he recommended I have weight loss surgery. I told him I wouldn't and that I had a lot of medical trauma from past surgeries and wouldn't be having any elective procedures. He said he'd make a note not to discuss it again and wanted me to follow up every 3-6 months after that. I never questioned why. If I didn't have any endocrine issue why did an endocrinologist want me to follow-up? Makes no sense, but I thought maybe if I keep coming back he will eventually figure out what's wrong with me.

At every follow-up he mentioned WLS again and I noticed a lot of people coming and going from his practice to buy the meal replacements and other stuff you need after WLS, so no wonder he kept telling me I just needed surgery. Eventually I got sick of the run-around and his deteriorating bedside manner and went to specialists of all other sorts to figure out was wrong with me.

Finally saw a new endocrinologist this month and she took everything more seriously. She ran all the bloodwork and found I have a pheochromocytoma. Hope it isn't malignant because I've probably been living with it for years, no thanks to Dr. Isaacs.

If you have Type 1 diabetes please consider another endocrinology team. Unfortunately, I will be finding a new doctor due to my last experience. One of many reasons is that I was questioned as to why I was checking my blood sugars with my blood glucose meter and not trusting my Libre CGM completely. I told him I manually check during a low or high to ensure accuracy before I correct. He shook his head and rudely said that my CGM is accurate and that I don't need to manually check. Every Type 1 diabetic knows that blood meters can save lives! Especially when your CGM is 15-20 minutes behind and your sugar is dropping rapidly. You have to act fast. The blood is more accurate in real time than interstitial fluid. This is very common knowledge. The actual CGM app even says to double check with a blood monitor during a high or low blood sugar. He also questioned my dosing strategy which changes throughout the day due to my body's resistance to insulin. I'm much more resistant in the morning than at night so my timing is different. Timing of dosing also changes depending on the type of food (simple sugars, complex sugars, fat, fiber, etc.). This all plays a huge role in dosing. He smugly said I must dose 15 minutes before every meal, it's what the prescription says. This is absolutely not true and any Type 1 diabetic can confirm this. I am a very well managed diabetic and I am in range 96% of the time. I felt a little crazy leaving my appointment but luckily I am confident in my daily management with my diabetes. I can't say the same for new diabetics and I fear this false information could be dangerous for those. Not to mention, it took a full hour to even be seen by my doctor and his bedside manner was extremely judgemental and smug. So unfortunate for patients who are already dealing with the daily struggles of being Type 1.

I went to Dr Issac’s 6 months ago, on my 2nd visit my blood pressure was up … he only did it 1 time. He prescribed medication and I left. After about a month of taking it and not feeling well I went to see him. I told him that I had not taken the medicine that morning to which he stated I couldn’t do that and started arguing with me. I told him that I have ‘white coat syndrome’ He continued to argue. We left amazed.
I met a woman that shared she received the same treatment (I had not shared my experience) and she left.
My mistake was going to him initially.

Been seeing Dr Issac for years, great. Recently had to schedule an appointment for much needed medication refill. I made an appointment for previously within the same hour bc I was told that was one of the two he had available at the the time. I called back to switch for the sooner date after changing my work schedule. spoke with Evette, without asking she called his schedule to see if there something sooner. There was something available on my off day! I didn’t have to change my schedule after all. As a night shift charge nurse, that truly helped my schedule and my floor due to low staffing recently. That small call made by Evettee was her doing a job as well as going above and beyond. I spoke with a previous employee, not even 30 mins before whom I was more candid with about my medication need/ urgency but he didn’t make that call for me. Either way, I am so grateful.
