Target Chicago South Loop

Chicago, 1154 S Clark St, Chicago, IL 60605

If you’re living in the South Loop or Printer's Row and need a one-stop shop that doesn't feel like a typical suburban trek, the Target at 1154 S Clark St is a total neighborhood staple. Located right at the corner of Roosevelt Road and Clark Street, this "South Loop Target" is the go-to for everyone in the 60605 zip code. It’s a massive, multi-level store that manages to feel like a community hub where you can knock out your entire to-do list while catching a view of the city skyline from the parking deck.

The real benefit of this location is the layout and the sheer amount of services packed into one building. Unlike the smaller "city-format" stores downtown, this is a full-scale Target. You’ve got a massive grocery section downstairs for your weekly meal prep, while the upstairs holds the big stuff: electronics, home furniture, and apparel. It’s also got all the essentials like a CVS Pharmacy, a MinuteClinic for quick check-ups, and a Target Optical if you need to refresh your frames. Plus, the Ulta Beauty at Target section is a huge hit for grabbing high-end skincare without making a separate trip.

What really distinguishes this spot for locals is the convenience of the multi-level parking garage. In a neighborhood where finding a spot can be a nightmare, having a dedicated garage makes those big hauls—like a new TV or a carload of paper towels—way less stressful. If you’re really in a crunch, the Order Pickup service here is incredibly smooth. You can also grab a coffee at the Starbucks Cafe right inside the entrance to fuel your stroll through the aisles.

The store generally keeps a very reliable schedule that fits into a busy city routine, whether you’re a student at one of the nearby colleges or a professional heading home to a high-rise. Target South Loop is open Monday through Sunday from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. It’s clean, well-lit, and the staff is used to the fast-paced South Loop energy, making it a dependable spot to keep your apartment and your life running smoothly.

Target is a successful American chain of stores. What is success? Because the best prices for the most popular goods. This is the principle and idea so you can become attractive to the buyer. And this is the best idea for Americans

I love coming to this target as it’s the closest to me. The store itself is always clean, organized. Staff are easily found every aisle you’re at. Tons of parking space.

Extremely rude. Asked an employee about a fitting room she mumbled an answer and when I asked her to repeat herself she told me to just take an empty one. Rude but whatever. Then when I came out of the dressing room a different employee got mad at me because apparently I didn’t follow some procedure that was never explained to me. As expensive as they are they could at least be nice.

Love target but this target just needed a little more clean up!!!

Stop discrimination against larger men. Stop telling us to shop online for what we want. You should at least have xxxl clothing. I want the same shopping experience as my smaller brothers

The employees are very polite! The best service,! Especially from those people who work in the self-checkout!

I’ve been calling for days! I paid for my products and it seems like the cashier left them inside the bag at his counter. I need my feminine products and clothing products. Only place that answers the phone is pharmacy. This is giving Walmart, not Targét.

Clean and organized Target in the South Loop

I recently visited the Target located at the corner of Roosevelt and Clark in Chicago (1154 S. Clark St.). While shopping for groceries, I asked a store associate where the butter was located. He responded by saying “aisle C3” and pointing, without any useful context. When I explained that I have a visual impairment and cannot navigate based on vague directions, he pointed again and said, “It's to your right,” in a dismissive and unhelpful tone.

Eventually, I asked another employee near the front of the store for assistance, and she did show me where the item was located. I also asked whether staff receive any training on assisting customers with visual impairments. Rather than answering the question, she responded sarcastically with “thank you for your feedback,” and dismissed the concern altogether.

What is most disappointing is that this reflects a broader lack of basic civility and empathy. One would expect that the Gen X parents of today’s younger workforce would have instilled a foundational sense of respect and awareness toward people with disabilities. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case here.

Accessibility is not a courtesy—it is a responsibility. A large retailer like Target should ensure that its employees are properly trained to assist customers with visual disabilities in a respectful and competent manner.

The employees aren't customer service oriented. With the amount of staff walking around they seem to not care when asked a question. It's almost as if we can't ask for help.

Target is a great staple when you want something for a great price like food or gadgets or toys. This one has Free Parking and many levels of it and you don’t need validation so you don’t have to worry about that. There are bathrooms on every floor. And the bathrooms are very nice and modern and updated n clean. The best part about this target is that they have a free Miss Pac-Man machine you can play.

Employees are very rude and disrespectful. I came in at 9:20 and the employees began yelling at me for being in the store.

It’s crazy how self checkouts placed right in front of the escalators with no signage, and half the time only 4 of 8 of them are working while the line stretches 20+ people back. Since there’s no signage, the number of lines being formed and at which location(s) entirely depends on an invisible social contract based on whatever employee is working at that time and what unspoken rules people there have made up in their head. The way shoppers here figure it out is by standing in a random spot and seeing if that gets you yelled at. Most of the time, the agreed upon “correct” spot to line up is right behind the escalator, 40 feet away from the actual checkouts, which is so far back and hidden that people who are not familiar with this secret choreography often don’t realize and accidentally cut in the line, which, if the employees’ backs are turned, happens quite often.

Get some signs and some velvet rope, and rearrange the checkouts so they don’t block the escalators. Every other store in this world already has this figured out, it’s really not that hard.. like am I missing something here?

Consistently terrible target experience. Self checkout is a chaotic train wreck located right at the base of the escalators for maximum clustering and confusion. Only half of self checkout lanes are open despite line of 15 people. 20+ registers exist but only 2 lanes are open for those who do not self checkout. Store pick up/ exchanges/ customer service line is consistently filled with 10+ customers and employees standing around pretending to be working. This is a disaster and management needs to rethink the store’s layout and allocation of human capital
