New York City, 7 7th Ave 2nd & 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10011

Welcome to the "Heartbeat of Greenwich Village." Occupying the 2nd and 3rd Floors of 7 7th Avenue, the practice of Dr. Alexander Gorodnitskiy, MD is a premier destination for cardiovascular care within the prestigious Northwell Health Physician Partners network.

Dr. Gorodnitskiy is a board-certified cardiologist who combines Ivy League-level diagnostic rigor with a "neighborhood doctor" warmth that has made him a fixture in the Lower Manhattan medical community.

The Vibe: Sophisticated Village Sanctuary

Located at the intersection of 7th Avenue and 12th Street, the office reflects the energy of Greenwich Village—modern, accessible, and deeply personal. It is part of a multispecialty hub that brings the vast resources of Lenox Hill Hospital and the Northwell network directly into the neighborhood. Patients often describe the atmosphere as "efficient yet unhurried," a rare find in the heart of New York City.

The Specialist: The Compassionate Consultant

Dr. Gorodnitskiy is known as "Dr. G" to many of his long-term patients. His approach is defined by "Active Listening":

The "Detective" Approach: He is frequently praised for his thoroughness, often reviewing mountains of previous paperwork to find the "missing link" in a patient’s cardiac history.

The Multi-Specialty Foundation: After graduating from SUNY Downstate, he completed his residency at the legendary (and now historic) St. Vincent’s Hospital and further refined his expertise at Lankenau Hospital, giving him a deep understanding of the New York medical landscape.

The Multilingual Bridge: He provides a vital service to the city’s diverse population by offering consultations in both English and Russian, ensuring that complex heart health discussions are understood with absolute clarity.

The Craft: High-Tech Heart Defense

What makes a visit to the 3rd floor of 7 7th Ave unique? It is the integration of Advanced Imaging with preventative strategy:

Echocardiography Mastery: Certified by the National Board of Echocardiography, Dr. Gorodnitskiy utilizes high-resolution ultrasound technology to visualize heart valves and chambers with microscopic precision.

The "Longevity" Plan: His practice focuses heavily on the "Big Three" of prevention: Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol), and Coronary Artery Disease. He doesn’t just treat symptoms; he designs long-term "longevity roadmaps" for his patients.

Research-Backed Care: He has been involved in cutting-edge research regarding stroke prevention and the WATCHMAN device, ensuring his patients have access to the most modern alternatives to traditional blood thinners.

Why It’s Unique to the Greenwich Village Hub

The "Northwell" Advantage: Being situated in this specific Northwell location means that if a patient requires advanced intervention—like a cardiac catheterization or surgery—Dr. Gorodnitskiy can seamlessly coordinate care with Lenox Hill Hospital, one of the top-rated cardiac centers in the nation.

The "Above and Beyond" Service: Reviewers frequently tell stories of Dr. G coming back into the exam room after a visit has ended just to answer a final forgotten question. He is known for using humor to put anxious patients at ease before diving into serious clinical data.

The "One-Stop" Utility: Because the office houses multiple specialties (including Rheumatology and Pulmonology) and diagnostic labs on the 2nd and 3rd floors, patients can often complete their cardiac testing and specialist consultations in a single building.

The Patient Experience

The Clinical Verdict: "A partner in your health." Dr. Gorodnitskiy is the definitive choice for the New Yorker who wants more than a prescription. If you are looking for a cardiologist who will "backflip" to ensure your heart is healthy and who treats the person behind the chest pain, this 7th Avenue office is your sanctuary.

Dr Al Gorodnitskiy appears intially to be nice. However, everything declined when my 84 yr old mom asked him to explain the list of tests again to her. He said, I cant believe you are asking me to explain this again. We are going around in circles. How about we contact the Medical Board, and inform them you need to circle back on your bedside manners if you want to continue to practice. Horrible experoence and I hope this is not a diversity issue. Extremely disappointed by the way he handled my mom.
