In the vibrant seaside city of Hollywood, Florida, GG’s Waterfront at 606 N Ocean Dr is a glamorous portal where South Florida’s colorful past meets its modern coastal chic. Overlooking the shimmering Intracoastal Waterway, this legendary spot offers more than just a meal—it offers a front-row seat to the "Yacht Watch" lifestyle.
The Hollywood "Rat Pack" Heritage
Before it was the polished, airy space it is today, GG’s had a secret life. In the 1950s and 60s, it was Joe Sonken’s Gold Coast Restaurant, a world-famous hangout for Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack. Legend has it that the booths here held as many mob secrets as they did celebrities. Today, that seedy-glam history has been traded for a sophisticated, open-concept design, but the "Old Florida" soul remains.
The Intracoastal "Runway": The restaurant’s 80-foot dock is its heartbeat. Diners can watch multi-million dollar luxury yachts glide by—so close you can almost toast the captains. If you’re arriving by sea, the restaurant offers dock-and-dine service, making it a favorite for the local boating community.
The "Sunset Yacht Watch" Ritual: Every Sunday, GG’s transforms into a vibrant Sunset Party hub. With live music, a waterfront patio lounge, and unobstructed views of the orange-pink Florida sky, it’s the unofficial headquarters for ending the weekend in style.
Raw Bar Mastery: At the center of the main dining room is a bustling exhibition raw bar. It is a visual feast of Florida Stone Crabs (in season), Alaskan King Crab legs, and giant seafood towers prepared in real-time by chefs under the soft glow of industrial-chic chandeliers.
A Culinary "Land and Sea" Fusion
The menu is a sophisticated blend of fresh Florida catches and prime-cut steaks, delivered with a professional, "steel-blade-table-clear" level of service.
Signature Seafood: The Chilean Sea Bass (served with dashi bok choy) and the Florida Grouper are perennial standouts. For a local classic, don't miss the blackened grouper tacos or their award-winning Key Lime Pie.
The "Pow! Pow!" Kick: A fan-favorite appetizer, the Pow! Pow! Shrimp—tossed in a sweet and spicy chili sauce—is the perfect high-energy start to a waterfront dinner.
Award-Winning Cellar: Boasting a Wine Spectator Award-winning list, GG’s features over 125 carefully curated labels from around the globe, designed to pair perfectly with the salty ocean air and grilled meats.

- Love this place. Has great views of the intercostal waters, while boats pass by. It’s a touristy place but there are times when you can in the afternoon get a table without any problems. It’s a Italian and Mediterranean restaurant. Good size portions and great tasting food. The parking is a pain if you come in the mornings for breakfast. Definitely a great stop for food and a moment to enjoy the view
- We went there last night for a friendsgiving dinner with the kids. Everything was amazing, the atmosphere, the service, the food. We ordered a couple of drinks to start, some apple juice for the kids and we had some delicious bread with hummus that everybody loved. We then ordered the pow pow shrimp, fried fish, baba ganoush for starters. Then had octopus, sweet potato fries, salmon, ribeyes, lobster Caesar salad, a pasta with different seafood and chicken fingers and burgers for the kids. This was plenty of food for all of us and everything was perfect. Our server, she did a fantastic job. She was attentive, nice and helpful with all of our questions. I would definitely recommend GG’s Waterfront!
- We came here for date night and stumbled across a fantastic happy hour menu. We ordered a couple of drinks to start, the skinny margarita martini and the piña colada martini. Both were very refreshing and a great start. We then ordered the PEI muscles, octopus, truffle fries, tuna tostadas and street corn. This was plenty of food for the two of us and everything was perfect. The octopus was exceptionally tender and the muscles were a highlight. Our server, Brandi, did a fantastic job. She was attentive, nice and helpful with all of our questions. Overall the food was great, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was delightful. I would definitely recommend GG’s Waterfront, especially for happy hour!
