Phoenix, 4915 E Baseline Rd #112, Gilbert, AZ 85234

In the heart of the East Valley’s booming family corridor, San Tan Allergy & Asthma serves as a vital clinical outpost for those battling the unique atmospheric challenges of the Arizona desert. Located at 4915 East Baseline Road, Suite 112 is a high-tech sanctuary designed to help Gilbert and Mesa residents breathe easier in a landscape known for its "dust, dander, and bloom."

This practice operates on a simple but powerful premise: Environmental conditions shouldn't dictate your lifestyle.

The Vision: Immunological Resilience

The team at San Tan Allergy & Asthma views the immune system as a sophisticated defense network that sometimes needs "re-training." Their clinical approach is defined by:

The "Desert-Specific" Panel: Advanced diagnostic testing tailored to the specific pollens, molds, and dust mites native to the Sonoran Desert, moving beyond generic allergy screenings.

Precision Asthma Management: Utilizing state-of-the-art pulmonary function testing to create personalized "Action Plans" that keep athletes on the field and children in the classroom.

Innovative Immunotherapy: From traditional allergy shots to sublingual (under-the-tongue) drops, they specialize in desensitization protocols that address the root cause of the allergic response rather than just masking symptoms.

The Atmosphere: A Breath of Fresh Air

Suite 112 is an environment engineered for clinical clarity and patient comfort. Situated on the Baseline corridor, the office provides:

A "Low-Trigger" Environment: The facility is designed with air quality in mind, providing a clean, professional space where patients can find immediate relief from outdoor irritants.

Family-Focused Care: Recognizing that allergies often affect entire households, the practice is optimized for both pediatric and adult patients, offering a seamless experience for busy Gilbert families.

TOP important and interesting reviews from patients

Best doctors visit in years. I have been truly impressed by the staff and the doctor. The front office team were professional polite, and prompt. The ladies that provided my breathing test were caring, patient and friendly. Lastly Dr Shimamoto is awesome. He listens, he's caring, he explains everything. His bedside manner is extremely professional. This office was a blessing. I've been suffering from horrible allergies for 30 years and finally I was heard.

Dr. Shimamoto is a top-tier professional who genuinely cares about his patients. He took the time to listen and explained everything thoroughly during my visit. The front desk team, Ashlyn and Varela, were also incredibly helpful and kind. Highly recommend this clinic for outstanding care and service.

This is an updated review. In the previous review,I stated that there was a lack of communication, and things have changed since then. First things first, the communication side of things has greatly improved. There is a lot more communication when it comes to updating me on my medical records, and appointments. Secondly, I am being seen by Kerry a nurse practitioner, and she is awesome. She takes her time to listen to my concerns, asks questions about the efficacy of the prescribed medicine, if my symptoms are improving, and shows a genuine compassion, and care in finding the right treatment for my medical condition HAE.If you are looking for an allergist, or immunologist that will listen, and show compassion and care during treatment then I truly recommend this place. Grateful for the medical staff here.

The office staff doesn't have their stuff together. There's a list of things I could mention but the big one is a bill we received in the mail. I called numerous times to talk to someone about it. I get transferred to an extension to leave a voicemail. Never a call back. I didn't want to go to collection so I went to the office in person. I was told it's a zero balance and that I'm good. Months go by and I get a collection notice. Again I call multiple times and nobody responds until this morning. They called me at 5am. No resolution.

Excellent, kind, knowledgeable, and personal staff. All staff!!! Poor review due to extreme difficulty in contacting the front desk by phone. Please hire more front desk personnel. The staff currently up front are exceptional but they obviously need help.

Dr. Reeder, we have been trying to get an appointment or at least be able to talk to you since last week. I have called the office multiple times and no one answers. I left a voicemail and never got a call back. I've even tried sending an email. Nothing back. You said my son needed to see you if he's using his rescue inhaler more than 2x a week and he's had to use it more than that including an asthma attack at school. On top of that we are very unexpectedly moving next week and I'm worried about his continued care and making sure he has his daily medications and rescue medications available while we look for a new provider in the new state, which I have no idea how long it could potentially take to even get an appointment. I want to make sure he will have enough of his inhalers to last that waiting period. I called last week as soon as I found out we had to move. He can't just stop taking his medicine and I really wanted to be able to talk to you about how we can make this transition smooth for him and what your recommendations are for him going forward. We are moving back to Arizona when we are able and would love to return to this office when we do. But being left out like this is super scary and not really an acceptable practice. We have had nothing but a positive experience there up until this point but basically abandoning, at this point, an asthmatic kid is super disappointing and could be dangerous. If his breathing gets any worse we won't have a choice but to go to the urgent care. There doesn't seem to be any way to get through here and I see others having this same issue. It doesn't make sense to do this to people who need medical care.

Edit: just since I wrote this I've gotten another call that he's having an asthma attack at school. This isn't cool San tan allergy and asthma. I don't think we will be coming back to this office after all. Routine visits are fine but when your kid needs help you get crickets.

We actually really like my husband’s doctor, but you CANNOT get through to this office at all. I mean like calling 10 times and no one answers. I’m sure it’s like most facets of health care and they are understaffed, but it is extremely frustrating when there are issues that need addressed and you can’t even get through to talk to a person, or have messages returned. We went with them on a referral but the issues with communication is making us second guess this.

The staff was very friendly. I was standing by the front desk, and every staff person that passed behind the desk smiled at me. My doctor, Dr. Reeder, I followed from another clinic because he is the kindest person I have the pleasure to know. And he also has improved my allergy symptoms.

I usually have to wait a few minutes. However, Dr. Shimamoto is so personable that it is always worth the wait. I look at it as I may be why he is running late. I love this office.

Dr. Shimamoto and his staff are among the most professional, compassionate and qualified providers I’ve encountered over years of experience with patient care. Dr. Shimamoto was trained at National Jewish Health in Denver, by the finest doctors at the #1 respiratory hospital in the US. I am very happy to award 5 stars, and would recommend the practice to anyone looking for the best respiratory and allergy care in the Phoenix area.

Dr. Shimamoto is highly qualified, personable, and very professional. He truly hears you and takes the time to learn as much as he can to properly assess any given situation. My family and I have been patients of Santan Allergy & Asthma for 14 years now and highly recommend them to everyone!

Dr. SHIMAMOTO was excellent. He was so understanding. It turns out I don't have allergies of significance. Instead it is a chronic condition. Finally someone listened to me.
