Located within the medical corridor of downtown Phoenix, his practice is far more than a cardiology clinic; it is a center for vascular longevity, where the complex rhythms and pathways of the circulatory system are treated with a blend of interventional precision and a "heart-first" philosophy.
Dr. Akkad has built a reputation as the West’s leading sentinel for cardiovascular health, specializing in the delicate art of keeping the body’s engine running at peak performance.
The Vision: The "Vascular Guardian" Approach
Dr. Akkad operates on a philosophy of Integrated Cardiology. He believes that treating the heart requires an understanding of the entire vascular map:
Interventional Mastery: As an expert in interventional cardiology, Dr. Akkad specializes in minimally invasive procedures—such as stenting and angioplasty—that open blocked pathways without the need for traditional open-heart surgery.
The Rhythm & Flow Specialist: From managing complex arrhythmias to treating peripheral artery disease (PAD), the practice focuses on the fluid dynamics of the body, ensuring that oxygen and life reach every extremity.
Preventative Engineering: Dr. Akkad is a firm believer that the best surgery is the one that is avoided. He employs advanced lipid management and diagnostic screenings to identify structural weaknesses before they lead to catastrophic events.
The Atmosphere: Downtown Sophistication, Clinical Calm
The office on North 7th Street reflects the fast-paced innovation of Phoenix while maintaining a sanctuary-like quiet for its patients:
The "Clear-Path" Consultation: Dr. Akkad is renowned for his ability to translate the complex language of hemodynamics into clear, actionable plans. He doesn't just show you a chart; he explains the story of your heart’s health.
A Hub of Expertise: Situated near some of Arizona’s premier medical centers, Suite 400 acts as a command center where cutting-edge diagnostic technology meets a highly personalized, boutique patient experience.
The Pulse of Phoenix: Located just minutes from the I-10 and Loop 202 interchange, the clinic is a central destination for patients across the Valley who seek elite-tier cardiac care without the "large hospital" bureaucracy.

TOP important and interesting reviews from patients
- My first visit was awesome. Good people was able to talk to the doctors openly and they may me comfortable. Thought I had to do a lot of paperwork, but it was already done fantastic good staff.
- I've been a patient at Affiliated Cardiology since 2007. I've ALWAYS had the utmost confidence that I've gotten the best care. There examinations are very thorough, you know they really care about your heart health and you as a person. I began as a patient setting Dr Akkad but began seeing Dr Katherine Minor in 2012 she is a wonderful doctor and shows genuine concern for you as a person not just a patient. She asked me how my family was doing and really listened.
- My prior cardiologist was not the nicest and told me she didn’t have time to look at my chart because she’s busy and has a lot of patients to see. I felt disheartened and began looking for a new provider and found affiliated cardiologists. I was seen by PA Katie Minor. She is kind and professional. She made me feel comfortable and explained everything so well to me. Nothing was rushed and I liked that she asked if I had any questions I’d like to ask her. I also have a vascular compression disorder and she gave me the name of the doctor I should see for this condition. It’s nice to know that I am in good hands.
